Questions for Growth Groups and Personal Reflection

Read Luke 13:1–9

What stood out to you from the passage or from Sunday’s talk?

When you look at what’s happening in the world right now, what events make you wonder why God allows such things?

According to Jesus, what should we learn from suffering, whether caused by human evil, natural disasters, or tragic accidents? What wrong conclusions must we avoid?

If a friend who isn’t a Christian asked you what “repentance” means, how would you explain it?

Read Luke 3:7–17; 6:43–45; 8:11–15.

What do these passages show about what real repentance looks like in everyday life? What does “fruit in keeping with repentance” involve?

How does Galatians 5:22 deepen our understanding of the kind of fruit God wants to grow in us? According to Luke 11:9–13, how do we receive the help of the Holy Spirit to produce this fruit?

Which aspects of this fruit do you long to see grow more in your own life?

Spend time praying about what you’ve discussed, asking God to grow true repentance and lasting fruit in you.
