Re-Read Philippians 3:1-11
Did anything strike you from this passage or talk?
If you were to stand before God today, what would you say? What would be your ground of confidence?
Does Paul’s language regarding the false teachers in verse 2 surprise you? Why do you think he’s so vehement?
What did Paul previously rely on, as a Jew? What might be things we’re tempted to put our confidence in today to make us acceptable to God?
How do you respond to Paul’s description of his former confidence as “rubbish” (literally “excrement,” v8)? How do you view your own when it comes to making you right with God?
Is knowing Christ your deepest desire? What might help you grow in that desire day by day?
Where do you need Christ’s resurrection power right now—in your fight against sin, in your weariness, in your suffering?
How does rejoicing in the Lord (v1) safeguard Christians from slipping into false confidence based on performance?
Who can you gently encourage this week to keep their confidence in Christ and press on to know Him better?
Spend some time praying about the above.
